Clock is a mechanical device that requires a service schedule to keep it running. The determining factor in how long the inner metal parts last is how well you keep the oil lubricating the movement, because you are cutting short the life of your clock if it isn’t sufficiently lubricated.
We recommend an oiling every 3-5 years for all mechanical clocks and with the proper service, a well-made clock movement should last for generations. Over half of a century, thousands of clocks have passed through our repair bench with some are brought in critical condition. Most, if not all, are repaired and restored to the full customer satisfaction.
